Camping in Africa

Popular Africa Camping Regions
Africa has many popular camping regions, each offering its unique view of wildlife and terrain. Whether you wish to visit Kenya's finest wildlife sanctuary, the Maasai Mara; Tanzania's Olduvai Gorge; the Zambia side of Victoria Falls; or South Africa's Kwazulu Natal North Coast, you will find an abundance of camping tours to choose from and numerous destination combinations. Camping tour durations can run from just a few days to several weeks. Tent camping, mini van and truck camping tours are available. Below are countries with popular camping destinations.

Your Africa camping trip can take you where Drs. Louis and Mary Leakey have walked at the Olduvai Gorge, or where Jane Goodall observed gorillas in Kenya, or where Livingstone discovered and named Victoria Falls. If your camping trip routes through Nairobi, you can visit the home of Karen Blixen, author of "Out of Africa", on your way to your Kenya camping destination. Her home is now a Kenya National Museum. If you camp in South Africa's Kruger National Park, you have the best chance of seeing Africa's "Big Five" wildlife -- Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino.

Camping trips in Africa can be of a budget class, standard class, or luxury class. A budget class camping trip of short duration can be a surprisingly inexpensive way to gain memories that will last a lifetime.
